Fallout Season 2 Details: Trailer, Release, Cast & More
In ‘Fallout’, Amazon has found one of its flagship series. It was clear that this was a very ambitious bet on the part of Prime Video, but that did not mean that it was going to be a success. In the end, it has been the case since it has been a hit, achieving the best data for a series on the platform since ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power‘. It is therefore logical that they have rushed to renew it for a second season.
Now we’re going to go over everything that’s known so far about ‘Fallout’ season 2, from its possible release date to its cast, without forgetting the news about its filming and all the details about the new episodes. As always happens with these articles, the plan is to update them as soon as something relevant is known.
When is ‘Fallout’ season 2 coming to Amazon?
We have not yet confirmed the date, but we will most likely have to wait until 2026 to see it. That conclusion is reached by referencing the first. Filming began in the summer of 2022, and then we were not able to see it until April 2024. Considering that the second one will be filmed this year, but filming has not yet started, it is logical to conclude that.
Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner, showrunners of the series, have confirmed that the wait will be long, so everything points to 2026 at the earliest.
‘Fallout’ season 2: cast
It is assumed that all the surviving characters—for example, we can already forget about seeing Michael Emerson again… or his head—and with some weight in the plot will return for the second. That would mean the return of, among others, Ella Purnell as Lucy MacLean, Walton Goggins as The Ghoul, Aaron Moten as Maximus, Kyle MacLachlan as Hank MacLean, Moisés Arias as Norm MacLean, or Xelia Mendes-Jones as Dane.
It is also very likely that we will also see other secondary characters again, such as Thaddeus, played by Johnny Pemberton; Chet, played by Dave Register; Woody, who has the face of Zach Thomas; Stephanie, played by Annabel O’Hagan; or Betty, played by Leslie Uggams.
No casting has been announced yet, but Jonathan Nolan, director of the first three episodes and producer of the series, hinted that Aaron Paul is a big fan of the series and that he might be interested in a role. Remember that the two previously worked together on ‘Westworld’?
Fallout Season 2: Story and Synopsis
‘Fallout’ will have to pick up the story where it left off at the end of the first installment. This will take us to New Vegas, the only major city in the United States that did not suffer the direct effects of a nuclear explosion. Therefore, everything points to the fact that multiple elements of the video game ‘Fallout: New Vegas’ will be adapted, but beware, the story of the same has very different endings depending on the decisions made by the player.
Individually, Lucy accompanies the Ghoul in his search for those responsible for his personal tragedy, holding out hope of locating his family. Meanwhile, Maximus has achieved an important position within the Brotherhood of Steel, and we will see how Lucy’s decision is made, while Norm has been trapped after discovering a terrible truth…
Season 2 of ‘Fallout’ is filming
The filming of season 2 is the first confirmed change in the Amazon Prime Video series, as filming is moving to the state of California in the United States. The reason? A juicy tax advantage valued at 25 million dollars has allowed them to leave New Jersey, New York, and Utah behind.
The exact date of the start of filming is still unknown; the goal is for it to be in September 2024, but that could change, but everything points to it starting this year. For the first one, it was decided to record it mainly in the summer, but for the second one, it seems that will not be possible.
It is known that its estimated budget will be 153 million dollars, an outrageous amount that places it as one of the most expensive series in the entire history of television.
