Ryan Gosling Reveals the Moment He Fell Deeply in Love With Eva Mendes

Canadian actor Ryan Gosling began his artistic career as a child, being chosen at the age of 12 to be part of the television program ‘The Mickey Mouse Club,’ where he met other precocious talents from the studio such as Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Christina Aguilera . Once he outgrew his teenage years, Gosling made the leap to the big screen, although it took a few years before he achieved worldwide fame thanks to his performance in the romantic drama ‘The Notebook’ (Nick Cassavetes, 2004).
From then on, the actor began to gain some notoriety thanks to titles such as ‘Drive’ (Nicholas Winding Refn, 2011), ‘The Big Short’ (Adam McKay, 2015), or ‘La La Land’ (Damien Chazelle, 2016), and his fame has spread in recent years thanks to films such as ‘Blade Runner 2049’ (Denis Villeneuve, 2017) or ‘Barbie’ (Greta Gerwig, 2023).

On a personal level, the actor met his partner, actress Eva Mendes, during the filming of the drama ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’ (Derek Cianfrance, 2012), with whom he has shared his life ever since. They have two daughters, the first born in 2014 and the second in 2016. Despite their strong relationship, it hasn’t been revealed whether they continue to live together as a couple or have formalized their relationship with marriage. In fact, Ryan Gosling himself was asked about it by ‘Elle’ magazine in November 2022, to which the actor replied: ” I like to keep everything private .”
Furthermore, since the birth of his daughters, the actor decided that he would only accept one film project per year, dedicating the rest of his time to being a present father who enjoys watching his little ones grow up. Gosling made it clear how important his family is to him in an interview with ‘GQ’ in May 2023: “ When you asked me about Eva and children, I think I said, ‘I didn’t think about children until she told me she was pregnant.’ But that’s not true. I didn’t want to go into details, but I also wouldn’t want to downplay it. It’s true that I didn’t think about having children before I met her, but then I realized that I didn’t want to have children with anyone other than Eva. There were moments on ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’ where we were pretending to be a family, and I didn’t want to keep pretending anymore. I realized that I would be very lucky to have that kind of life .”
