Why Bruno Mars is being compared to Drake Bell after his successful shows in Mexico
This past weekend, Bruno Mars reopened the GNP Seguros Stadium with three consecutive performances, in which he captivated more than 195 thousand attendees.
During his last performance and to say goodbye momentarily to the Mexican public, the singer presented a video that left the audience in love.
Through a clip that he also shared on his Instagram account, the Uptown Funk singer did not hesitate to demonstrate his great love for Mexico.
In the video, Mars appears dancing through the streets of Mexico City in a charro suit and sporting a wrestling mask.
In another shot, the singer is seen “throwing the challenge” on a court, as well as applying a wrestling hold to another masked man. According to what Bruno Mars himself shared, this personal movement is called “The Oaxaca Shaka.”
Along with the video, Bruno Mars dedicated a message to say goodbye to his fans, stating that he will return to Mexico City.
“Thank you Mexico for three beautiful parties. I fulfilled a childhood dream by becoming a wrestler for a day. Now I present to you my signature move: the Oaxaca Shaka. I love you so much, Mexico! Please enjoy this video until I return. With love, your Brunito,” the singer wrote.
Bruno Mars accused of copying Drake Bell
Because of this, some users began to compare Mars to Drake Bell, a former American actor and singer who, after facing serious accusations in his native country, found a new career in Mexico.
The actor, known for his role in the series “Drake & Josh,” has adopted the identity of “Drake Campana” and has embraced Mexican culture to the point of changing his residence and declaring, on multiple occasions, that he feels a love for our country that he has never felt anywhere else in the world.
These words, accompanied by Bell’s new music, which he released in Spanish, have made many suspect that, due to his cancellation in the US, he found a stage in Latin America to maintain his relevance; this, despite the fact that he assures that his feelings are genuine.
Now Mars’ critics are “accusing” him of having been inspired by Bell’s formula for his tribute to Mexico, especially now that, they say, his career has been on the decline and he has lost relevance in the industry; at least that is what can be read on social media.
