Director Coralie Fargeat, responsible for the film Revenge, returns this year with a new body horror film titled “The Substance.” The first teaser trailer is now available from Deadline, offering a look at Demi Moore in this disturbing project.

The Cannes Film Festival website describes the premise of “The Substance” with an intriguing question: “Have you ever dreamed of a better version of yourself? You should try this new product: Substance. It changed my life. With The Substance, you can generate another version of yourself—younger, more beautiful, more perfect… Just share the time for one and one week for the other. A perfect balance of seven days, right? “You follow the instructions; what could go wrong?“
World Premiere in Cannes
Ahead of its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, Mubi has acquired worldwide distribution rights to “The Substance.” The film, written and directed by Coralie Fargeat, features a cast including Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley, and DennisQuaid.
