Taylor Swift changes the name of a song to refer to Kanye West

Since the release of The Tortured Poets Department, Taylor Swift has released several live versions of some of the songs, but what surprised her fans and social media users is that she changed the title of one of her songs to add a subtle reference to Kanye West.

The singer released a live version of her song ‘thanK you aIMee’from the album TTPD mixed with’Mean’from the album Speak Now, which she performed at the Eras Tour show on June 22 in London.

However, she made a subtle change. In the original title, the letters KIM stand out, which are capitalized, which many fans have taken as a reference to Kim Kardashian.

In the new version, the title has changed to ‘thank you, aimEe’, which features the capitalized letters YE-, which many social media users have pointed out as a reference to Kanye West, whose official name is Ye.

While the singer has never explained who the song is about, the lyrics of ‘ThanK you aiMee’ appear to reference the moment after her fight with Kim and Kanye in 2016.

What happened between Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian, and Kanye West in 2016?

Kim and Taylor had a cordial relationship until 2016. In that year, Kardashian was still Ye’s wife and made the decision to leak several clips of a call Swift had with the rapper, in which it seemed that Swift had approved West including her name in one of his songs.

The verse allegedly presented to Swift was from the song’Famous’which goes: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous.

The singer denied being aware of these lines and argued that the full song had never been shared with her. A later post of the entire phone conversation showed that Kim’s leak had been edited and that Swift’s claims were true.

Despite the original call being leaked, Kim took to Twitter to defend her husband and herself.

Taylor opened up about what happened eight years ago in an interview with TIME, published last year. “You have a completely fabricated setup, in an illegally recorded phone call, that Kim Kardashian edited and then released to tell everyone that I was a liar. That took me psychologically to a place I had never been before,” she said.
