His given name is Jimmy Donaldson. He was born in Greenville, North Carolina. He is barely 25 years old and is already one of the most recognized stars on the Internet.
Although his name has gained immense popularity in recent years, he began his career more than 10 years ago. According to ‘Business Insider’, he posted his first video on YouTube in February 2012, when he was just 13 years old.
That initial content, according to the aforementioned publication, was about him playing video games, reacting to gossip from other YouTubers of the time, estimating their fortunes, or giving advice to other creators.
However, it did not bring him much success. In February 2019, Mr. Beast said on Twitter:
I made YouTube videos for 6 years straight and still didn’t make enough money to pursue it full-time.
Everything changed when he opted for long-form videos that showed him doing “meaningless” things, like counting from 1 to 100,000 or spinning a fidget spinner for 24 hours straight.
By the end of 2017, he had already gained his first million followers on YouTube.

This is how, little by little, MrBeast became one of the most famous YouTubers: with 309 million subscribers on his main channel, ‘Forbes’ magazine gave him the first place in its 2023 list of ‘Top Creators’. Currently, he also has other YouTube channels dedicated to video games, philanthropy, reactions, etc.
