Lana Del Rey has generated romantic rumors about an improbable suitor.
At Leeds Festival in the UK at the weekend, 39-year-old US singer was seen clutching hands with a mystery male. Video footage of this was taken by a fan and shared on Titok.
Since then, it has come to light that the man in the clip is father-of- two Louisiana-based alligator tour guide Jeremy Dufrene.
Images uploaded on Reddit show Del Rey, who was playing at the festival, shopping at Harrods in London with Dufrene; another fan spotted them dining at the department store.
From at least March 2019, when Del Rey posted a picture to her Facebook page beside Dufrene during one of his air boat excursions, it seems the pair had known each other.
Del Rey captioned the picture, showing her guiding the boat, “Jeremy lemme [let me] be captain at Arthur’s Air Boat Tours x,”
The Young and Beautiful singer was in Louisiana at the time doing performances for the Buku Music + Art Project event.
Over the arbitrary pairing, pop star fans have been losing their sanity; thousands of people have responded to the news on X.
“I apologies; this is unusual.” Really unusual. I suppose he must be the sweetest man ever created.
“Let’s put it this way, he must have a great personality, another said.”
A third laughed, “If I knew this was the standard I would have thrown my own hat in the ring.”
“Sick pull for friend, respect,” another said of Dufrene.
One user noted, “I have questions.”
Del Rey has a really vibrant dating past.
The artist dated police officer Sean Larkin in 2019; the two would then go on to attend a number of well-publicized events together before calling it quits in 2020.
Del Rey set up a single advertising billboard in Tulsa, the city of Larkin, as she was pushing her ninth album Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd in 2022.
She posted on her own Instagram account, later adding in the comments, “There’s only one [billboard] and it’s in Tulsa.” Later on, “It’s. Personal.”
She then temporarily piqued interest in rumors of engagement with US singer Clayton Johnson, although the two quietly split ways in 2021.
Del Rey is somewhat quiet about her dating life, but she once spoke candidly about what she looked for in a possible mate.
In 2014, the singer revealed to Rolling Stone she has “an affinity for really good, strong, self-assured people.”
