New Street Fighter Movie Directed by “Hablame” Creators

After the resounding success at the box office with “Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire,”  Legendary presents its new live-action film based on the popular video game “Street Fighter.”. The announcement comes along with the publication of the film’s logo, with the idea that the new adaptation significantly improves on the 1994 version starring Jean-Claude Van Damme.

The rise of video game adaptations

Hollywood has found a new source of cinematic success in video games. After the superhero fever, now it is video game adaptations that are booming. Recent examples such as “Super Mario Bros.,” “Sonic, ” Pokémon: Detective Pikachu,” and “Five Nights at Freddy’s” have shown that adaptations faithful to the source material can attract both fans and new viewers. Legendary, aware of this trend, has unveiled the first official “Street Fighter.

The direction of the hand of those responsible for Hablame

The new “Street Fighter” movie will be directed by Danny Philippou and Michael Philippou, known for their work on “Talk to Me.” Production will be carried out by Legendary together with Capcom, the company behind the video game. During the logo presentation, the directors expressed their excitement at the opportunity to create something unique and unprecedented, recognizing the challenge of adapting a game focused on pure fighting to the big screen.

Although the project is still in development and does not have a confirmed release date, it is expected that this new installment will surpass the 90s version and honor one of the greatest video games in history.
