The success of’M3GAN’at the global box office (exceeding $180 million) and its virality on social networks like TikTok have caused confirmation of what was an open secret: The Megan doll will return, like Chucky, Annabelle, and other infernal dolls, in a sequel to continue with their dances and their murders.
The collaboration between Blumhouse and James Wan’s production company, Atomic Monster, has been a success, and both companies are pleased to continue with the agreement by releasing another horror film next year, ‘Night Swim‘, and will leave the sequel to ‘M3GAN’ for later. Blumhouse and Atomic Monster have been talking about a merger for months, and we wouldn’t be surprised if it happened before the release of this sequel, currently titled ‘M3GAN 2.0‘.
Gerald Johnstone will return to the director’s chair, and the script will once again be written by Akela Cooper, screenwriter of ‘M3GAN’ and ‘The Nun 2’.

The date chosen for Megan’s return is June 25, 2025, an unusual date for a horror sequel, which usually takes advantage of the commercial pull by releasing just one year apart. However, we will accept this temporary difference, as they want to do things well without rushing. And this is good.

Allison Williams (Gemma) and young Violent McGraw (Cady) are set to reprise their roles in the sequel, with Williams also returning as a producer.
Jenna Davis will also return to voice the artificial intelligence, and we hope Amie Donald will once again be her stunt (and dance) double. We are also betting on the return of Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps as Gemma’s laboratory assistants.
