Rings of Power Season 2: Release Date & Dark Trailer
Amazon seems to have listened to fans who complained that the first season of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ did not have enough intensity and the dark touch of many of the passages from Tolkien’s original work. That is to say, the first installment of this story had a weak point that distanced it from a genuine adaptation of ‘The Lord of the Rings’, even though it was based on stories not told by Tolkien.
We already have the preview of the second season of ‘The Rings of Power’ in the form of a trailer, and many of those problems seem to have been corrected: with Sauron coming to the foreground of the action, it is clear that the adventure is going to get dark, and that’s what we see in this trailer. In addition, we have a date for the premiere: August 29 of this year.
In the trailer, Sauron disguises himself as an elf to help Celebrimbor forge the rings. Its influence is noticeable in the vicinity: orcs, trees that come to life, a viscous and threatening substance… of course, things that we did not see in the first and very bright season, from which we did inherit a few heroes: Galadriel, Elrond, Arondir, and Isildur.
Of course, fans have plenty of nods to spot here: Mount Doom, one of the Great Eagles, something that could be a primitive version of the Dark Tower, and the Stranger carrying a staff. Of course, it is not clear whether we are dealing with Gandalf, but the truth is that he fits the legendary sorcerer of Tolkien’s stories. Now, wait until August.
