A’ja Wilson leads the All-Star Quintet

Wilson proved why he is one of the biggest stars in world basketball with another outstanding campaign. He was a dominant force in the final, recording 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocks in the gold medal match.

Throughout the competition, he averaged 18.7 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2.7 blocks per game, while shooting 59.2% from the field. This contributed to an impressive efficiency rating of 25.7.

Breanna Stewart joined her teammate on the All-Star Team after also shining during the United States’ last golden campaign. The forward was unstoppable at times en route to the Finals and averaged a 20.3 efficiency rating, with 16.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.7 blocks per game on 56.7% shooting.

Gabby Williams was the inspiration behind the French team’s journey to a dream final on home soil. The forward, in addition to winning the silver medal, was recognized as the Best Defensive Player and earned a spot in the All-Star Five, averaging an efficiency rating of 18.8, 15.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.

Alanna Smith helped Australia to the bronze medal, and she had her best performance in an Opals jersey with standout displays. This resulted in an efficiency rating of 15.8, with 11.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.

Emma Meesseman was, as usual, an unstoppable force for Belgium, which achieved its best ever result at the Games with a fourth-place finish. The forward averaged incredible numbers, with a 28.5 efficiency rating, 23.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.5 blocks per game.
