‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ returns darker, more epic and wilder: the trailer for season 2 unleashes the madness of fans
The first images from season 2 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power have given fans of the fantasy franchise a new lease of life. If some viewers weren’t convinced by the first installment, the next Prime Video installment promises to be everything we wanted two years later. The trailer, which you can watch below, proves it: more epic, wilder, much darker, and with Tom Bombadil.
It was considered by many to be the highlight of San Diego Comic-Con, and it has not disappointed. Through a three-minute trailer, Prime Video has revealed what awaits fans of the saga in the second season of The Rings of Power. Something has caused the desire to see the new fantasy series on August 29 to increase.
This second season will transport us to witness the fabled Rings as they have never been seen before, wondrous creatures, glimpses of approaching wars, and the mounting evil influence of Sauron in Middle Earth, as the teaser shows. Another strong point is the appearance of Tom Bombadil, played by Rory Kinnear, whom fans have been waiting to see on screen. Also appearing will be Cirdan (Ben Daniels), the shipwright and one of the three ring bearers among the elves. “Here he who shares gifts,” he says, introducing himself.
The second season of The Rings of Power focuses on Sauron’s return to Middle-earth. After revealing his identity and being cast out by Galadriel, Halbrand (Charlie Vickers) is left to his own ingenuity to rebuild his power and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power. The Dark Lord’s only goal is to be present during the process and then bend all of Middle-earth’s people to his sinister will.
What Prime Video said about the new episodes is that they will put all of the characters “into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find their place in a world that is increasingly on the brink of doom.” “Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, sorcerers and wizards… as friendships begin to unravel and kingdoms fracture, the forces of good will fight even more valiantly to preserve what matters most to them… themselves and their loved ones,” it says.
Though what is obvious is that it has to be given a chance, it remains to be seen how the new chapter develops and whether it gets the same critical appreciation as the previous one. The second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will arrive on Prime Video on August 29.
