Arrest based on CCTV footage

It was thanks to the vigilance of Universal CityWalk security officers that the incident was reported to law enforcement.

Alerted by the argument between Skai Jackson and her partner, they quickly requested the intervention of the Los Angeles County sheriffs. According to the latter’s statements to Entertainment Tonight, the analysis of the images captured by the surveillance cameras made it possible to establish that the young woman had physically jostled her boyfriend.

This finding led to his arrest for domestic violence, a minor offense in California.

A couple who proclaimed their happiness despite appearances

Still, according to the confidence of the police in TMZSkai Jackson and her companion have firmly denied that their argument had degenerated to the point of becoming physical.

Better still, they allegedly claimed during their interrogation to be happily engaged, even going so far as to mention a pregnancy. A version that is contradicted by the video surveillance images, which were explicit enough to justify the actress being placed in police custody for several hours.

A meteoric rise since his debut at Disney

Skai Jackson, born in 2002 in New York, made her acting debut at the age of five in the film Liberty Kid.

But it was the sitcom Jessie, broadcast on Disney Channel from 2011 to 2015, that really brought her to the attention of the general public. In it, she mischievously played the character of Zuri Ross, the youngest of the three children looked after by the nanny Jessie, played by Debby Ryan.

Building on her success, this role allowed her to get her own series, Bunk’d, a spin-off of Jessie that she brilliantly carried for three seasons until 2018. Since she left the Disney stable, the young woman has worked on projects on the small and big screens. In 2023, she was notably on the bill for the action films Sheroes and Embattled.

For now, Skai Jackson‘s legal future remains up in the air. While she was quickly released from police custody, she is not immune to prosecution. As reported by Entertainment Tonight, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office indicated that the case was still under review to determine possible criminal prosecution.

For her part, the actress did not wish to comment on the facts that she is accused of. Her representatives, contacted by the American media, also declined to make any statement on the subject. On social networks, the young woman is discreet, contenting herself with promotional publications on her current projects. It remains to be seen whether this unfortunate episode will impact her promising career.
