Voice actress Rachael Lillis has died at the age of 46, as confirmed by Veronica Taylor, her co-star in Pokémon. Remember, Lillis lent her voice to Misty and Jessie, characters from the cartoon universe that launched her to stardom?

“It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of Rachael Lillis on Saturday evening, August 10, 2024,” she wrote in an official statement published on X.

According to Veronica’s statement, the American voice actress passed away on August 10; although the cause of death was not specified, Tayler recalled that Rachael Lillis was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023.

“Rachael was an extraordinary talent, a bright light that shone through her voice, whether speaking or singing. Regarding her death, it was recalled that Rachael also gave life to Jigglypuff, the Pokémon that sings, and Rachael began her career in the nineties, when the successful series had its first wave of followers around the world.
