Will ‘Avatar 3’ be a reality?
The doubts are understandable after the first sequel took more than a decade to become a reality, but the truth is that absolutely yes, there will be Avatar 3.
The first time there was talk of a third Avatar movie, in fact, was years before the release of the first installment, when Cameron first expressed that if his new film project was successful, he hoped to be able to make two sequels. Once Avatar passed its sentence, the plans at first were for the films to be filmed much earlier, and there was even talk of 2014 and 2015 as probable release dates for both.
Finally, the need to develop new technologies that would allow certain scenes to be filmed and other issues beyond their control, such as the COVID-19 crisis, delayed filming, but we know that Avatar 3 began filming simultaneously with Avatar: The Meaning of Water and that production ended at the end of 2020 after more than three years of work.
