Star Jason Statham (‘ Beekeeper ‘) will star in a new action thriller titled ‘Mutiny’, a film that Jean-François Richet, director of The Pilot ‘, will direct in 2023. Lionsgate has acquired its distribution rights in North America, while international distribution rights will be offered to potential buyers at the imminent Cannes Film Market.
Regarding his story, after his billionaire industrial boss is murdered in front of him, Cole Reed (Statham) has no choice but to initially take the blame for the crime, leaving him on the run while he works to uncover an international conspiracy.
‘Mutiny’ will have a script by Lindsay Michel and JP Davis (also screenwriter of ‘The Pilot’) and production by Statham through his company Punch Palace Productions and Marc Butan of MadRiver Pictures. Production is expected to begin in September.
