Dustin Hoffman and Leo Woodall cast to star in crime thriller ‘Tuner’

As reported by Deadline,  Dustin Hoffman  (Rain Man) and  Leo Woodall  ( ‘One Day’ ) have been chosen to star in ‘Tuner’ , a police thriller by Oscar winner Daniel Roher ( ‘Navalny’ ) whose production will begin next October in Toronto.

The film will focus on the story of a talented piano tuner whose life is turned upside down when he discovers that his meticulous piano tuning skills can also be applied to safecracking. 

Hoffman, 87, is considered one of the best actors of his generation, with seven Oscar nominations and two wins: Kramer vs. Kramer (1979) and the aforementioned Rain Man (1988). His next project will be Megalopolis (released on September 27), directed by Francis Ford Coppola.

For her part, Woodall began to stand out in 2022 as a cast member of the second season of  ‘The White Lotus’ . Her upcoming projects include  ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy’  and  ‘Prime Target’ . As for Roher, who will direct the film from a script he co-wrote with Robert Ramsey, he is a Canadian filmmaker known for directing  ‘Navalny’ , a documentary about Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny for which he won the Best Documentary Feature award at the 2023 Oscars.

‘Tuner’ will be produced by JoAnne Seller and Lila Yacoub, with Black Bear set to launch its sales at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.
