Ben Affleck and other celebrities affected by serious fires in Los Angeles
A massive wildfire has Los Angeles, California, under red alert. The flames, fueled by strong winds and extremely dry conditions, have scorched thousands of acres and destroyed numerous structures, forcing more than 40,000 residents to evacuate their homes, including Ben Affleck.
The American actor, remembered for his leading role in Batman Vs Superman, left the $20 million mansion he recently acquired after his separation from Jennifer Lopez.
According to TMZ, Ben Affleck has taken refuge at the home of his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, who lives nearby to facilitate the joint raising of their three children.
Other celebrities affected by the fires in Los Angeles
Like Ben Affleck, director Guillermo del Toro was also forced to evacuate his home located in Thousand Oaks, one of the areas most affected by the fire.
“We were evacuated last night from the houses that contain the collection (Bleak House) because the fire is already in Agoura, Malibu, and it is spreading. Things… We’ll see what happens, but I’m still here. Hugs,” the 60-year-old Mexican filmmaker commented on his social networks.
Actors Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, as well as their sons Gunner (6 years old) and Ryker (13 months), evacuated their Pacific Palisades mansion, but hours later the property was consumed by the voracious fire. This was confirmed by Stephanie Pratt, Spencer’s sister, through an Instagram post.
“I am frozen in shock. How horrible for my beloved nephews to see their home disappear like this. They must be so scared and confused. I am beyond heartbroken for my brother, Heidi and the children (…) I just spoke to my dad. He tried to save my brother’s house, but the wind is so strong that he couldn’t do anything,” Stephanie said.
Star Wars star Mark Hamill was forced to flee his Malibu home after a rapidly spreading fire. He and his family made it safely to his daughter’s house in Hollywood, where he described the situation as “the worst since 1993.”
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, as well as Travis Barker ‘s children, Alabama and Landon Barker, are other celebrities who have had to leave their homes in Los Angeles to flee the emergency.
