Las referees of the new F-League have been planted. They have paralyzed the start of the competition so that their salary demands can be met. The First division female will be a professional league for the first time, and the collegiate do not want to be less. In a first proposal, they asked the LPFF (Women’s Professional Soccer League) 21,000 euros per game to be distributed among the entire referee teamthe same figure as in Santander League.
This demand the bosses of the Spanish women’s soccer contemplated it exorbitantly. Until now, the negotiations between LPFF and the referees have not reached an agreement. This has raised the question of what is the salary in the main sports.
Male soccer referees, the ones who earn the most by far
21,000 euros for the entire arbitration team. That is what the collegiate members of the F-Leagueand that is what the referees of Santander League.
Although, the salary of the referees does not stop there. They have a fixed monthly salary of €12,500 per monthplus variables of €4,000 per directed match. If the referee runs the VAR room, instead of €4,000 are €2,000. There are also bonuses for those international collegiate. They would add up to €7,000 for calling a Champions League match.
These data are far from female referees, even in their demands. A First Division referee earns 300,000 euros per yearthe collegiate asked for a total of €48,833. Per game, in women’s football they are charging €400, with your proposal it would be around €1,300. Therefore, although the LPFF had accepted the first proposal of the female referees, they would continue to earn less money than the male referees. The minimum wage is also different among the players of LaLiga Santander, €155,000and those of the F-League, €20,000all in annual figures.
Basketball, in second position
Leaving football figures aside, basketball referees are the second most paid for directing matches. An Endesa League referee has an annual salary of between 45,000 and 50,000 euros. Speaking of the data by game, each one adds up to about 1000 euros. As happens in football, the referees who play Euroleague they get a bonus. This would be around 1,400 euros.
Again, the figures in women’s basketball are lower than in men’s. Run a party Endesa Women’s League is less paid than one of the LEB Gold,€260 vs. €455.
Handball and Futsal, in the queue
Lastly, there are those sports that neither in the male nor the female category allow referees to dedicate themselves fully to refereeing and live from it.
Starting with handball, the Royal Spanish Handball Federation grants 440 euros to each of the two referees of each match of the Asobal League. Little more than half are given to lead a match of the Iberdrola Warrior League. Total, 240 euros.
In the case of futsal, the First Division of the National Futsal League exceeds in 10 euros to the Asobal League. In futsal, as in handball, each game is refereed by two people, which receive €450.
In the case of Women’s First Division, each of the female referees receives less than a quarter of that of their male counterparts. Lhe matches of the highest Spanish women’s futsal competition are refereed for €68.
