This holiday period is marked by the restrictions that many countries have imposed by the new omicron variant. For South Africans, for example, half the world has closed their doors overnight. Some countries like Spain have taken measures so that the new variant of the coronavirus does not arrive from Africa and have imposed quarantines and restrictions.
Other countries, like the United States, do not care where visitors come from and have imposed measures tougher. If we look at Europe, there are countries that tighten these measures now that this new version of the virus has been detected.
Restrictions in France
The conditions to travel to France are hardened from this Saturday, starting with those who do it from the European Union and are not vaccinated. They will no longer have to present a negative 48-hour test, as before, but less than 24. If you are traveling from outside the Union, the test will be mandatory, even having the complete guideline in this way.
The Gallic Government wants slow down a fifth wave that begins to overflow, but also contain the advance of the variant. In fact, as of today, flights with southern African countries are resumed, with mandatory quarantine for all travelers.
Restrictions in Italy
In Rome, from today wear masks outdoors it is mandatory in the streets and squares from the center of the Italian capital. The objective is to prevent contagion in the commercial areas of the Eternal City for Christmas. Most are respecting the new rule that will last until New Year’s Eve, although it is likely to last until Three Kings Day.
Restrictions in Belgium
In Belgium today new restrictions come into force, especially in the segment of the smallest, which is where the infections are overwhelmed. This Saturday all covered playgrounds and the mask are closed. It will be compulsory from the age of 6, but many do not understand the measurements.
They believe that they have fallen short of an extreme situation like the one we are experiencing. One of the main newspapers headlines ‘The great confusion’, but it is that even the Minister of Health himself has recognized that for him the measures they are disappointing.
