At least 840 kilograms of Colombian cocaine, valued at 80 million euros, It has been found this Friday distributed in boxes of bananas in two supermarkets in the north of the Czech Republic.
The Czech police have opened an investigation and have indications that the cocaine smuggling could have been even greater. The authorities were alerted by employees of these supermarkets, located in the towns of Jicin and Rychnov nad Kneznou, who They detected the shipment of the drug among bananas.
Security agents are investigating three other destinations to which the white powder could have reached through the same shipment of fruit from the distributor, according to the public broadcaster CT24.
The head of the Central Anti-Drug Unit, Jakub Frydrych, specified that the drug arrived at the Jicin supermarket in 36 boxes of fruit and at Rychnov’s in 60 boxes, and that it is a powder with 80% cocaine.
Frydrych estimated that this shipment could fetch a price of 80 million euros on the black market.
