The Government of Somalia has announced the opening of an investigation into two incidents in which members of the Somali Army have killed three civilians in the country’s capital, Mogadishu, and which is currently leading to the arrest of three soldiers.
The military have been arrested in connection with the deaths on Thursday of the brother couple of Zakariye Mohamud Hussein and Sowda Mohamud Hussein, at the Debka intersection, and that of Mahad Abdirahman, who was shot in the head while driving in a carriage through the Zoobe crossing the next day.
The country’s prime minister, Mohamed Hussein Roble, has called for the suspects in these killings to be swiftly brought to justice.
“It is a positive step that the security forces have arrested the suspects.
