The murder of Al Jazeera journalist Shirin Abu Aqla while covering a raid in the Cirjordan shocked the international community. While the media outlet the reporter worked for accused the Israeli army of being guilty of the murder, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said it was “probably” Palestinian forces.
“According to the information we have collected, it seems likely that armed Palestinians, who were shooting indiscriminately at the time, were responsible for the journalist’s unfortunate deathBennett pointed out. “Israel has called on the Palestinians to conduct a joint pathological analysis and investigation, based on all existing documentation and findings, to arrive at the truth. Until now, the Palestinians have rejected this offer.”
The chief executive assured that “the IDF forces will continue their anti-terrorist operations” in the West Bank “to put an end to the deadly wave of terrorism and restore the security of the citizens of Israel.”
The Embassy of Israel in Spain issued a statement reiterating the words of the Israeli Prime Minister and explaining that “apparently, by fire fired by Palestinians, and not by fire from the Israel Defense Forces.”
“Early this morning, the Israel Defense Forces carried out an operation in Jenin with the aim of arresting suspected terrorists. Israeli forces were the target of a mass shooting. Al Jazeera journalist Shirin Abu Aqla was injured and died as a result of her injuries,” the statement said.
The embassy explains that there is a video “made and broadcast by terrorists” in which they claim that they had shot “a soldier.” “Considering that no IDF soldiers were injured, it is possible that they were the ones who injured the journalist.”
The Israeli Defense Forces always warn journalists covering these types of situations that they should be extremely careful when entering and staying in spaces where terrorists are shooting.

“This is a place plagued by terrorists, who shoot indiscriminately.”
“The State of Israel stands for the truth and its government has called on the Palestinians for a joint investigation. Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said so on Twitter this morning,” the statement said.
We have offered the Palestinians a joint pathological investigation into the sad death of journalist Shireen Abu Aqla. Journalists must be protected in conflict zones and we all have a responsibility to get to the truth.

“So far, they have rejected this proposal, possibly with the aim of hiding the truth. We express our sorrow for the death of the journalist, we consider that freedom of the press is extremely important and we act in order to preserve it “
