The Spanish Cristina Gutiérrez (Red Bull Off-Road Team USA) again had problems with her vehicle in the fourth stage of the Dakar, in which she lost 17:26 compared to the winner in the light prototype category, the American Seth Quintero (Red Bull Off-Road Junior Team USA), after his car’s rear differential broke, making it difficult for him to be ‘positive’.
“I’m not happy because we broke the car, again. I couldn’t push like I wanted to… it was another difficult day. I try to stay positive every day, but sometimes it’s not possible, ”she said upon arrival at the camp.
The current light prototype world champion suffered on Monday a puncture, problems with the jack when changing the wheel and a clutch failure in the second half of the 339 kilometers timed; while on Tuesday the transmission was broken at km 167.
“We did very well before the rear differential broke. I am sad because we have had many problems; and I’m also tired. At least we are still in the race, and that is the most important thing ”, concluded the current T3 world champion
