“Raptor”, Putin’s favorite ship that has managed to sink Ukraine

Ukraine has destroyed the special boat that Vladimir Putin used to control the operations of its fleet in the Black Sea. According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, it was the model ship “Raptor”, the patrol boat with designation 001.

The Russian leader used this ship for military parades and as a place to deliver his speeches. Equipped with a remotely operated weapon station to hold a 14.5mm Kord machine gun and two 7.62mm PKP Pecheneg machine guns, the ship supports troops of up to twenty infantry and three crew.

This ship is a Russian coastal patrol class 16.9 meters long and a height of three and a half meters. According to the Now Telegram channel, the attack took place last Sunday.

The parade ship was especially characteristic for its white color. The usual thing is that it maintains a camouflage pattern to avoid attacks from the enemy army. Russia had eight vessels registered, although Ukrainian troops claim to have sunk several Russian army landing ships on Snake Island.

The Ukrainian Air Force, through Su-27 planes, bombed the main complex of the island, occupied by Russia. A few hours later, they staged a second attack, in which they sank another landing craft.

Satellite images analyzed by The Associated Press showed the sinking of the boat, corresponding to the “Serna” class, the Russian designation of “Project 11770”. The destroyed boat had a capacity of 90 people or up to 45 tons of cargo.

Against this backdrop, the Ukrainian fighters made a last stand to prevent the complete capture of Mariupol. Meanwhile, the president of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky, warned on Monday night that, Without Ukraine’s agricultural exports, dozens of countries in different parts of the world are on the verge of food shortages caused by the Russian invasion of the country.

“Politicians are already discussing the possible consequences of the price crisis and famine in Africa and Asia. This is a direct consequence of Russian aggression, which can only be overcome together, by all Europeans, by the entire free world,” the Ukrainian president said.
