The new Omicron variant, which has caused the closure of Bordeaux, Lorient Y Troyes, has not been able to avoid it either Ligue 1, which this Thursday announced the suspension of the Lille-Lorient that was due to play on Saturday.
This postponement follows the match between Angers and Saint-Etienne, which was canceled on December 31 and rescheduled to January 26. On this occasion, it was Lorient who reported that they have 12 positives among the squad, without also counting two members of the coaching staff.
Faced with this situation, the Professional Football League (LFP), followed the protocol stipulated in cases of coronavirus, which establishes that a minimum of 20 players must be available, including the goalkeeper, among a list of 30 to be able to play the game.
In turn, three Ligue 1 games were postponed: Caen-Niort, Dunkirk-Paris FC and Amiens-Ajaccio, which were to be played on Saturday.
In addition, there are two other games that can be postponed. Troyes claimed to have 13 positives and Bourdeos in total have already had 21 cases in the last three weeks, although there are only 8 who now suffer from it.
