Kevin Perez, 18, was arrested on Thursday and accused of the murder of Oscar Hernandez, 24, on December 16.
Hernandez was waiting for a haircut in a barbershop on Amsterdam Ave. Near W. 151st St. soon before 10 a.m.
According to law enforcement sources at the time, Perez went by, opened the shop door, and asked Hernandez what he was looking at.
Authorities said that Hernandez then went outside to confront him. Perez began to walk away as the two argued.
According to investigators, the adolescent pulled out a revolver and shot Hernandez in the neck and back.
Hernandez’s family informed the New York Daily News that they believe his death resulted from mistaken identity and that he had no idea who killed him.
The shooting was thought to be gang-related, according to police. Oskar was a member of the Bronx-based Thirdside Gang, according to cop sources.
Perez was due to be arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court on Thursday.
Kay Flock was detained and held in custody for an hour before interrogating. He was released from jail after a few hours.
According to anonymous social media allegations, the Rapper was allegedly discovered in possession of a firearm. And New York City’s firearms rules are strict, which could explain why he got arrested.
However, there is currently no reliable and trustworthy source to confirm this information.
