“In just one day,” former United States President Donald Trump puffs out his chest and promises that if he wins the upcoming 2024 presidential election, he will resolve the war. In a matter of 24 hours, Moscow and Kyiv will be signing peace.
Trump, 76, made the startling comment in an interview with Fox News that aired Monday night. The former president assured that if the war has not ended by the end of 2024 and he were re-elected, in one day he would have a peace agreement in force.
Trump, who is nervous about the possible indictment for the alleged bribery of porn actress Stormy Daniels, which could take place this Wednesday, has fully entered the campaign first for the Republican nomination and then for the presidential one.
The ex-president explained that the negotiations would be between him, the Ukrainian president Volodimir Zelenski and the head of the Russian state, Vladimir Putin. Trump dismissed them as “easy” negotiations.
“If it is not resolved, I will have it resolved in 24 hours with Zelenski and Putin, and it will be a very easy negotiation”. who assured during the interview that “but I don’t want to tell you what it is because then I can’t use that negotiation.” Moreover, he did not even hint at what his negotiation strategy would be.
All in all, Trump has acknowledged that there is still more than a year and a half left until the elections are held in the United States -scheduled for November 2024-, so it would be strange if something did not happen to stop the war.
“The key is that the war must stop now, because Ukraine is being razed,” said former President Trump, who has already pointed out on previous occasions that, if he were at the helm of the US Administration, there would have been no Russian invasion of Ukraine because he gets along “very well” with the president of RussiaVladimir Putin.
