Vladimir Putin continues with the objective of achieving victory in Ukraine and therefore defeat the West. After more than a year of war and with numerous rumors about his state of health, the truth is that the Russian president feels strong and is only afraid of plots to assassinate him and covid.
Gleb Karakulov, 35, who worked directly for him as captain of the Federal Guard Serviceescaped from Russia to safety through Istanbul, has defined him as a “war criminal” obsessed with his personal safety, assassination attempts and his state of health. Karakulov gave an interview in which he stated that he does not come out of his bunker and that he has given up traveling around the country as he was accustomed to the Russians. He also does not use his mobile phone or the internet for fear that his conversations or messages will be intercepted by the West and he communicates through a special device that he always carries with him.
The former Russian soldier added that the Russian president has a “mortal fear” of covid and is still isolated after four years. Karakulov, is the highest-ranking defector so far from Putin’s immediate security circle and was responsible for some leaks about putin’s armored train which is believed to be used on his increasingly rare trips around Russia for fear that his presidential plane might be shot down.
According to these leaks, the train it would be camouflaged in gray to look like a normal passenger train, which would make it indistinguishable from the rest
Karakulov added that the level of paranioa is such that he has never, in all his years of service, seen him use a mobile phone: “He does not use the internet or a mobile phone. He only receives information from his closest circle, which means that he lives in an information vacuum.” This means that your knowledge of events is limited to what you are told by the secret services and what you see on state-controlled Russian television.
Indeed, Western political analysts have long suspected that he does not receive full information on what is happening in Ukraine for fear of his anger and overreaction. According to Karakulov, his guards adore him and always talk about him as “The boss”
When Karakulov was asked if Putin is always locked up, he replied: “Yes, he is.” We still have a president who isolates himself. You have to go into strict quarantine two weeks before any event, even those that last 15 to 20 minutes. There is only a group of employees who have quarantined and been released so that they can work in the same room as the president.
Instead, the officer was unaware that the Kremlin tenant could be ill with cancer or any terminal illness. In his words, he had never heard of it: “It wasn’t something my colleagues discussed. If he has any health problems, it must be due to age. Well, he probably does. But it’s nothing too serious, I guess.”
“I can tell you that I went on a lot of business trips with him, and he went on a lot of trips before 2020. After that, he stayed in his bunker and did maybe only one, maximum, three business trips a year. Since there have been many business trips, only one or two were canceled due to his health.”
Rumors about the deteriorating health, mental state and unstable position of the Russian president within the Kremlin have circulated since long before he ordered the illegal invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
In the year since, the rumors have only intensified as the war appears to have taken a toll on the president, who has been seen in frequent videos released by Russia holding on to a desk to steady himself and shuffling awkwardly. Some news suggests that he has cancer or Parkinson’s.
Karakulov also seemed unaware of Putin’s private life with gymnast Alina Kabaeva, 39, but confirmed that Putin has a €1 billion palace on top of a cliff in gelendzhikin the Black Sea, and a private yacht, as revealed by several independent Russian media.
“What is happening now in Ukraine, all this destruction, this war of aggression, terrorism and genocide of the Ukrainian people, there is no other word for it, all this is a crime. Our president has become a war criminal,” lament. Last month Putin was charged with war crimes by the International Criminal Court. He is charged with the illegal deportation of children from Ukraine to Russia. A wealth of evidence shows that Russian forces have also violated various United Nations laws.
Karakulov wanted to address the Russian people, saying: “Our president has lost touch with the world. He has been living in an information cocoon for the past two years, spending most of his time in his residences, which the media call very appropriately bunkers. He pathologically fears for his life.He surrounds himself with a impenetrable barrier of quarantines and information vacuum. He only values his own life and the lives of his family and friends. The lives of your family and friends do not interest him. By separating the men from their families and sending them to be slaughtered in sovereign Ukraine, shows that not he does not care in the least what is happening to our country and Ukraine, the fact that it brings trouble, destruction and death to the brotherly people of Ukraine and to us. The criminal war must end as soon as possible. Life is the highest value. We have forgotten it in this country. People are considered cannon fodder. This will continue to be the case as long as we remain silent. This war has to end and it’s time to break the silence.”
Karakulov, who had worked in the Federal Guard Service since 2009, escaped when he was sent to Kazakhstan to prepare for a visit by Putin. On this trip in October 2022, during the war, Putin had his own bomb shelter, the defector said. “It’s kind of paranoid,” he said. Putin “simply afraid.”
