Ivan Marcone leave the Elche and fulfill his “greatest dream” of playing in Independent of Avellaneda. The club from Elche and the Argentine team have agreed to transfer the 32-year-old pivot, now official, for nearly two million euros, according to reports from Argentina. This amount will be paid in installments. In this way, Marcone leaves Elche almost two years later to return to Argentina and serve in the group of which he is a confessed fan, as he has shown several times posing with the ‘Rojo’ shirt on social networks.
Marcone closes a stage of franjiverde that has gone from more to less. He arrived at Elche in October 2020, from Boca Juniors, for just over three million euros. It should be remembered that the owner of Elche, Christian Bragnik, is Marcone’s representative, which facilitated his arrival and subsequent departure from the Elche group. With its sale to Independiente, the Martínez Valero entity will recover part of its investment. In addition, it releases one of the highest paid footballers in the squad, and who had two years remaining on his contract. “I put a lot on my part. And Bragarnik has done everything possible to make my wish come true,” Marcone said before undergoing a medical with Independiente.
The defensive midfielder landed in the city of palm trees at the request of the then coach of the team from Elche, Jorge Almirn, who had had Marcone during his successful stage at Lans. With Almirn, Marcone was the undisputed starter, but lost that status later with Fran wrote Y Francisco on the bench. In his two complete campaigns with Elche, he leaves 56 games as a statistics sheet (42 as a starter), 14 yellow cards and one red between the League and the Cup.
With the departure of Marcone, the team coached by Francisco will have to sign at least one defensive midfielder in the summer market. Negotiations are under way to renew Omar Mascarella key piece in the last campaign and whose contract is ending.
