He Chinese People’s Liberation Army You need pilots and pilot trainers for your new fighter jets. In the recent past, he signed up to thirty British instructors from the Royal Air Force and from other Western countries with the help of a checkbook to train Chinese soldiers in the management of fighters to shoot down Western aircraft.
In a new step to boost its air force, the Chinese authorities have revealed that they already have five female students in their academies training to lead next-generation combat aircraft. In fact, the People’s Newspaper reports that they recently made their first solo flights in the J-11 fighter jet. During training they performed “some difficult maneuvers and received high marks from their instructors.”
Soon they will begin training in flight combat maneuvers and tactics as well as ground attack skills, as explained by the commanders of the academy. “We wanted to show people that we as Chinese women can also fly heavy fighter jets. We have already been able to operate the J-11 and in the near future, we will also be able to fly the J-20, the stealth fighter plane,” Yan Zhongyue, one of the pilots, told China Central Television.
wang yanan, editor-in-chief of Aerospace Knowledge magazine, has explained that operating an air superiority fighter aircraft is basically no different than flying a light-duty aircraft. “Advanced combat aircraft have a fly-by-wire flight control system, which means that it is now much easier to steer a heavy machine. Physical strength is no longer an obstacle for women to fly fighter jets,” she explained.
A debate recently broke out in the UK because the head of the Royal Air Force (RAF) detailed in parliament that women pilots (about 35 in the UK) cannot fly the fifth-generation F-35 fighter due to the weight of the hull. Air Force chief Mike Wigston has revealed that the Gen III model used by the RAF weighs about 2.3 kilograms, and according to the standards set within the British air force the pilot, whether male or female, has to weigh at least 150 pounds to take command of the advanced fighter plane. “That’s the minimum weight limit for the F-35, and it doesn’t matter if you’re a man, a woman, or anyone, that’s what’s called for.”
He Chinese government registered its first female pilots in 1951 and since then his Air Force has recruited and trained nearly 700 women at its flight schools, People’s Daily reports. In 2005, the Chinese military authorities took a step forward by training women to fly fighter planes. Until then, all female Air Force pilots were trained only to fly transport planes.
Ben Lewis, a defense analyst, told the EurAsian Times that China’s recruitment of Western pilots “is not surprising given its goals. The People’s Liberation Army has not fought a war since the Sino-Vietnamese War of 1979.”
