Lnext week on Celta will present its season ticket campaign for the 2022-23 season and it is already surrounded, once again, by an important controversy.
Celta had paid special attention to next season’s campaign, given the massive flight of fans from the stands and the brutal decline in the number of subscribers that the club has suffered in recent months. This season Balados was attended by 7,500 fewer spectators than in the last campaign before the pandemic.
In turn, given the very important loss of subscribers -more than 40 percent- for the first time in the recent history of the club no figures were provided on the current social mass.
The controversy stemmed from the club’s intention relocate different historical season ticket holders from their seats in the Lower Tribune stands to create a VIP area, at a minimum price of 1,400 euros per season ticket. The critics did not wait, and the interested parties disclosed, in addition, that in the calls from the club the truth was not told about the real reasons for the change of location.
In the last few hours, the Peña Terra Celeste -one of the victims- indicated that, with the mediation of the Federation of Peñas and the, have managed to solve the problem in an “acceptable” way. Of course, they will also be relocated.
Celta has, for several seasons, a very serious social problem, of divorce with the stands. This was staged, in the last days of the League, with the boos that fans directed onto club property.
