Manuel Pellegrini, technician of Betis, took advantage of the press conference prior to the round of 16 match of the Copa del Rey, that his team will play tomorrow against Seville, to clarify his position regarding the arbitration controversy of recent days, after the expulsion of Lex Moreno in the match against Vallecano Ray and several more decisions of the Galician collegiate Muiz Ruiz to which the verdiblanco club reacted with some messages on social networks.
What do you think of the arbitration designation of the derby?
“The Vallecas arbitration is a finished issue. We all make mistakes, referees, technicians, players… We had that situation in that game, the game ended and it ended there, we must not keep thinking about it and we are not going to take refuge in the refereeing errors with the bad results. The game ended, we said what we thought at that moment, the page is turned over and now we think about the rival without worrying about who the referee is”.
Betis’ motto will be ‘against everything and everyone’?
“No, Betis’s motto is to try to play football well, try to win their games. Specific things can happen, they happen to everyone, and you don’t have to focus on external issues but internally try to be an increasingly powerful institution.” and have a team that plays better.
Mobilization of the fans against arbitrations
“Referees make mistakes, like everyone else, I personally don’t feel persecuted, far from it. I always look for ways to improve as a team and not look for external excuses”.
