ANDhe Atletico Madrid build up a stadium for around 6,000/8,000 spectators in the area of the Olympic Ring and pay for the public sports facilities that will be built on two neighboring plots, as announced by the mayor of Madrid, Jose Luis Martinez-Almeidain the plenary session of the State of the City.
Almeida has advanced the concession to Atlético of five plots of land near the stadiumin the area of the Olympic Ring. Three of them will be allocated by the football club to a sports citywhich include that stadium with capacity for between 6,000 and 8,000 spectators.
“For the benefit of the city”, heThus, two other plots, also for sports use, will be used for soccer fields and paddle and tennis courts.. They will be “managed by the City Council and paid for by Atltico with an investment of more than 200 million euros in five plots,” he detailed.
Another of the improvements for the neighborhood of Las Rejas, in San Blas-Canillejas, will be the construction of two exit accesses, to the M-40 and an addition to the service road, both “at the expense of Atlético de Madrid”.
