Jon Uriarte, Ricardo Barkala and Iaki Arechabaleta, no longer by order of appearance in the campaign but by the number of valid endorsements, are official candidates for the elections that Athletic will hold on June 24. The Bilbao businessman, who will be 44 years old in the final stretch of this campaign, has been the most endorsed candidate (6,041 signatures) followed by Barkala, who with 4,054 has remained at a distance of 1,987 endorsements, while Arechabaleta closes the quota with 2,987 supports.
“The goal has been met because we are an official candidate. We are very happy. Thank you very much to all of you who have helped us because without you it would have been impossible. We have generated a lot of illusion and we are not going to disappoint”, highlighted Uriarte in a video offered by his candidacy. Iaki Arechabaletathrough an institutional message in RRSS, pointed out that “the Athletic that we owe each other is closer every day and now comes the moment of truth” while Barkala took the opportunity to launch a video with his directors and the message ‘the match begins’

The endorsement count has discarded less than 10% of signatures presented by each candidacy. The most consolidated group has been that of Jon Uriartethat after revisions, either due to duplication or errors, it has only lost 6.1% of the signatures presented last Saturday. Arechabaleta has stopped adding 8.5% of registered guarantees while Barkala has been the candidate with a higher percentage (9.2%) of annulled accessions: presented 4,461 and they have validated 4,054
