LThe elections for Athletic’s Presidency and Board of Directors will be held on Friday, June 24, after the agreement unanimously adopted by the current Board of Directors of the club. The president Elizegi and its directors will resign from their duties on May 15, which will be the day before the official announcement of the elections. The management of the club will then be in the hands of a Management Commission arisen from the resigned Board of Directors, which will be the one that presides over the Assembly of Renewal of Statutes of the Club and will carry out the electoral process.
Ricardo Barkala and Iaki Arechabaletawho are already presenting their programs at meetings organized for this purpose in different locations in Bizkaia, are the two pre-candidates who have decided to go ahead. There is a third group that he has not yet ruled on the matter, but his decision will be imminent.
The elections will be held for the first time in San Mams and the club will announce in the next few days what the procedure will be for organizing the voting tables at the stadium. The rojiblanco coliseum will replace Ibaigane as the center of operations on election day. Elizegi ensure a quick transfer of powers since the 22-23 academic year will begin on July 1 and before that date decisions will have to be made regarding different contracts for Lezama workers, which end on June 30.
The electoral calendar
