At least one protester died this Sunday in Rangoon after forces loyal to the military junta fired on a group of people who had come out to protest against the current regime, which seized power in early February with a coup de State.
The authorities’ response to this mobilization, organized on Sunday morning, has also resulted in several serious injuries, according to the news portal ‘The Irrawaddy’.
More than 1,300 people have lost their lives victims of repression since the coup, according to a balance of the Association for Aid to Political Prisoners (AAPP), which also has registered more than 10,600 arrests, including that of the former leader ‘de facto’ of the Aung San Suu Kyi Government.
