Windows operating system has undergone countless changes since Microsoft released the first version in 1985, but there are also aspects of its operation that have remained unchanged for almost four decades. One of them used to be the one with the key Print Screen that until Windows 11 it has always had the same behavior by default, but that is going to change.
channel users Microsoft Insiderwhich allows the installation of beta versions of the operating system, have been found that with the latest update for Windows 11, KB5025310press the key Print Screen no longer automatically takes a screenshot of the entire desktop, but instead opens the tool trimming and annotation which, among other things, allows you to select the area of the screen that you want to capture.
The change is welcome because makes it easier to take pictures on the computer. Until now, after making the capture it was necessary to open a program like painting either word where to paste the image and then save it. If you also needed to crop it in a more intuitive way than with Paint, you should open the capture with paint 3d either Photos to make it.
In the case of using more than one monitor, the issue was particularly uncomfortable since Print Screen will always capture the content of all screens, which in most cases forces that subsequent edition.
The new default configuration of Print Screen speeds up this task by shortening the steps that the user must take and immediately accessing the most suitable native Windows tool for it. This change will apply only to Windows 11 users, but if like most you are still Windows 10you also have the option to change the default behavior of the key and link it to the app trimming and annotation. To do this you must follow these steps:
- Click on the button Start Windows.
- Choose Setting.
- Click on Accessibility.
- Choose Keyboard.
- Scroll to the section Shortcut to print screen and activate the option Using the Print Screen button to open the screen clipping the next time you tap it.
