At least three minors and three adults have been shot dead by a young woman at Alliance Presbyterian College, a private early childhood and primary education center in Nashville, Tennessee. The shooter is also deceased.
The Nashville Police, in the state of Tennessee, has reported on their social networks that the shooter, later identified as a 28-year-old woman, who opened fire at a Christian private school, Covenant College, on Burton Hills Dr, is also dead. Apparently, he would have died after an exchange of shots with the agents.
The Police department reports the place where parents can meet with school students. The reunion area is at Woodmont Church.
The shooting began at 10:30 a.m. local time.
“Three pediatric patients have been transferred to Vanderbilt’s Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital, all with gunshot wounds. All three have been pronounced dead upon arrival” at the health center, the hospital reported.
Formerly the Nashville Metropolitan Police had reported the death of an individual who had opened fire inside the schooleither. “An active shooter incident has occurred at Alliance College, Alliance Presbyterian Church, in Burton Hills.
The shooter has been targeted by the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department and is dead,” the police force reported on social media. A meeting point for victims and family members has been set up at the Woodmont Baptist Church, at 2100 Blvd. Woodmont, added the Police All hospitals in the area are on alert, as reported by the local news portal Scoop Nashville.
According to the EFE news agency, so far this year, at least 30 incidents with firearms in schools in the United Stateswhich have left eight dead and 23 injured, according to data from the organization Everytown for Gun Safety.
