, Dec 7 () –
At least two people have died and three others have been injured on Tuesday in a shooting in Moscow, allegedly at the hands of a man who had previously been urged to cover his face with a mask, authorities have reported.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobianin lamented the “tragedy”, which occurred in a public administration building. “The murderer has already been arrested,” he confirmed on the VK social network.
A spokesman for the security services has explained to the TASS news agency that the attacker opened fire after being asked to put on the mask, although a criminal investigation has already been opened to clarify what happened and clarify responsibilities.
This Tuesday is not the first incident on record in Russia due to disputes regarding measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. In November 2020, a person who refused to cover his face stabbed another on a bus, the DPA agency reports.
